Corner of Devon & Artesian Avenues

Munni Market brings the vibrant spirit of South Asian night markets to Chicago's Devon neighborhood. Over three evenings this summer, the corner of Devon and Artesian transforms into a dynamic space where art, culture, and community encounter the lived experience of this diasporic neighborhood. A curated selection of local artisans and vendors showcase handmade crafts, textiles, and ceramics, highlighting both South Asian heritage and their global influences. One-day performances highlight local musicians and movement artists. Families are welcome to participate in free-for-all art and craft activities, contributing to our shared space of creative exchange. Munni Market celebrates the choreography and cartography of urban life, where music, dance, food, and art offer an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of this rich Chicago landscape.

As part of the 2025 Chicago Architecture Biennial, SHIFT: Architecture in Times of Radical Change, Munni Market connects with the biennial’s exploration of how art and public spaces engage with the profound cultural, social, and environmental transformations shaping our cities and how we live inside them.
